Review of Thirty Day Challenge, 2009
Last updated, Aug. 23, 2009
Undertaking a review of the 30 Day Challenge is a bit risky, because the event is so very popular and well
received. But my risk isn't too great, because I am fundamentally impressed.
I find the teaching to be professionally done, the tools (so far, at least) to be mostly useful and the pacing
to be ideal for people who have enough time to dedicate to the tasks. In fact, I gave it five stars
on #30dc poll on this site, administered at the half way point in the month long
marathon.
My only real reservation is one of pedagogy. (For those among us who aren't familiar with
"educationaleeze," that simply means that I would--indeed I DO--structure my lessons on starting an online
business enterprise differently.)
This difference is seen first in the overall differences in goals of my own Internet marketing lessons and
those of the Thirty Day Challenge. The #30dc has a mission of having the participants earn their first dollar
during the course of the thirty days (actually thirty-one days). My mission, and the mission of 99Sites.US,
is to help people build a successful online business over the long term.
Of course, I suspect that Ed will be offering us opportunities to sign up for future, additional learning
experiences with him and others for a fee. I know his reputation in Internet marketing, and it is
excellent. He did not stop after the first dollar or the first website developed with a single set of
tools.
On this site, and in my free courses, I begin with understanding more deeply prior to asking my students to
act. I believe that it is important to understand the reasons that we build a business in a particular
way as opposed to the many other (less successful) alternatives.
This site is available as a free resource, which provides that background in applied theory. We have a
section dedicated to starting your own, lasting online business; a section for people
who want to use the Internet to market an existing physical retail or service business;
and a section for all types of business people to further develop their already successful business by means of Internet marketing.
We also offer a free course on starting your online
marketing, which includes a resource guide with many tools useful to that endeavor. Indeed, many
of those resources are also free.
We hope you'll take a look around 99Sites.US and let us know what you think, or contact us with any
questions.
